Answers to common questions about plumbing emergencies, response times, and pricing.
What qualifies as a genuine plumbing emergency? ▾
A plumbing emergency is any situation that poses immediate risk of structural water damage, biohazard exposure, health risks, or complete loss of essential sanitation. Primary examples include burst supply lines, sewer backing up into living spaces, water heater tank ruptures, or failed sump pumps during severe storms.
How do I shut off my water in an emergency? ▾
Locate your main water shutoff valve (typically located where the water main enters your basement, crawlspace, or utility room). Turn ball valves a quarter-turn so the handle is perpendicular to the pipe, or turn round gate valves clockwise until completely tight. Review our Main Water Shutoff Safety Guide for details.
